Dee A. Ommen
Dee A. Ommen, 46, of Dallas City, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, near Dallas City.
She was born Aug. 24, 1970, in Cedar Rapids. She grew up in Toddville, Iowa and graduated from Alburnett High School in 1988. She graduated from Hamilton Business College in 1990.
She worked at Yellowbook in Cedar Rapids for many years and later for Griffin Muffler in Fort Madison.
On Sept. 14, 2002, she married Scott Omen. They later divorced.
She enjoyed traveling, concerts, her flower garden, boating with Mike and most of all, spending time with her beloved cats.
Dee is survived by her significant other, Mike Dean of Dallas City, Ill.; one sister, Charlene (Ed) Allaire of Toddville; two nieces, Catherine Young of Cedar Rapids and Megan Young of Toddville; one great-nephew, Zane Young, also of Toddville; her uncle and aunt, Neville and Helen Barnard of Vinton; her cousin, Ray Herbert (Mary Ann) Barnhard of Vinton; and her 5 beloved cats, Reeses, Maddie, Comet, Wrigley and Mr. Man.
She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents Ray and Neva Barnard, and her cat, Cozy.
Dee’s family will meet with friends 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb 10. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
