Badgers football: Wisconsin receives verbal commitment from New Jersey running back Jonathan Taylor
The University of Wisconsin picked up its third verbal commitment in as many days Tuesday, and the most recent from Salem (N.J.) High running back Jonathan Taylor may be one of the biggest yet for the Badgers’ 2017 class.
Taylor, who stands 5-foot-11 and 208 pounds, hails from the same state as Ron Dayne and Corey Clement and picked the Badgers over Virginia Tech, Harvard and Yale, according to BadgerNation. UW offered him soon after he committed to Rutgers in May, and his commitment to the Badgers comes after a successful visit to Madison for the Ohio State game three weeks ago.
All major recruiting sites rate Taylor, the 14th commitment in UW’s 2017 class, as a three-star prospect.
His commitment came one day after Texas wide receiver Emmet Perry’s and two days after long snapper Adam Bay pledged to the Badgers.
