From the Santa Fe New Mexican:

April 27, 1969: Despite the mountain of conflicting statistics and the cloud of political crossmotives surrounding the Medicaid issue, some direction has appeared.

After weeks of fingers pointing in several directions, of bitter verbal battles over who’s responsible or uncertainty over what the problem is on the part of nearly everyone involved, New Mexico has established a pattern for extracting itself from the Medicaid mess, as it is now called.

April 27, 1994: A landfill permit application expected to be filed with the New Mexico Environment Department on Monday says the Santa Fe County Commission will be the manager of the new city-county landfill slated to be opened next year.

But Santa Fe City Councilor Frank Montaño says that notion is rubbish.

Montaño said he wants to stop the permit application and hold a joint session of the City Council and County Commission to talk about the landfill venture.
