Princess Stephanie Divorces Philandering Bodyguard-Husband
PARIS (AP) _ Princess Stephanie of Monaco obtained a divorce today from husband Daniel Ducruet, who was caught by paparazzi in a poolside romp with a Belgian stripper.
The divorce was pronounced by a court in Monaco, the Mediterranean principality where Stephanie’s family has reigned for centuries, according to the princess’ Paris lawyer, Thierry Lacoste.
Stephanie, 31, filed for the divorce from Ducruet, 32, on Sept. 16, after Italian magazines carried explicit photos of her bodyguard-turned-husband in a tryst with the reigning Miss Nude Belgium, Fila Houteman.
The couple has two children, Louis, 3, and Pauline, 2.
The announcement follows the appearance of more photos of Stephanie’s estranged husband _ this time flirting with a bikini-clad babe on his father-in-law’s yacht.
Ducruet, a former fish salesman, is pictured in this week’s Paris-Match and VSD magazines _ playfully posing on deck with a water-ski instructor identified only as Valerie.
``The Scandal Continues,″ Paris-Match said in a headline over a two-page photo showing Ducruet stretched out on the boat, the woman’s leg hooked over his thigh.
Other photos show the pair wrestling and laughing aboard the Louise, a yacht belonging to Prince Rainier III of Monaco.
The magazines also ran photos showing a brooding Stephanie, youngest daughter of Rainier and the late American film star Grace Kelly, watching her two toddlers play on a beach in the French Riviera principality.
