Over the last 50 years, there has been one school whose expertise in bringing the best in martial arts training, both physically and mentally, combined with caring knowledge has been a striving success to all ages of local area residents. One school has risen to produce champions as well as bring an abundance of professionalism and the highest quality of certified, trained instructors to the region The USA Martial Arts Training Centers is the result of Master Roger Jarrett’s dedication to sharing his dreams and passions not only nationwide, but worldwide. With locations in St. Albans, Kanawha City, Princeton, Weston, Buckhannon, Fairmont, and Morgantown, USA Martial Arts Federation recently reopened their Teays Valley location last year..

.“We had opened our center in Teays Valley in the early 1990′s but then did some restructuring, and decided to close the school for five years.” “Since re-opening their Teays Valley Training Center, we’re happy to bring a national program that I started known as “Little Dragons”. This program has taken off across the United States and caters to children from the ages of 3 to 6 years-old. It is a wonderful way to build self-confidence and self-esteem in young children, and we also focus on manners as well as developing their coordination skills. It’s also proven that martial arts training can help improve a child’s academic performance as it encourages and improves their concentration skills,” Roger Jarrett said..

.Providing strong core programs is exactly what USA Martial Arts Federation has been doing since 1973. Today, the centers are licensed and certified to provide training in the following martial art classes: Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Aikido, Judo, Jujitsu, Kobudo and Iaidio..

.Practicing martial arts is a sport that the Jarrett family has embraced. Chris Jarrett, Roger’s son, is a 5th Degree Black Belt and is a current member of the United States Karate Team. Master Jarrett’s daughter, Ashley, a 5th Degree Black Belt, and former World Karate Champion, is the head instructor of the Kanawha City location.

“We are the only recognized school for USA Karate Olympic training.Chris is our head instructor at the Teays Valley location and he will begin this summer the process to make the 2020 Olympic Team. We’re excited, this upcoming summer Olympics will be the debut for karate as an Olympic recognized sport.”

Not only is martial arts a part of the Jarrett’s lives, many families in the communities have embraced the training, as Master Jarrett explained, “We have entire families who train with us. Many people think martial arts are geared towards children or young adults, but grown-ups have discovered how wonderful it can be to help them

reduce the stress in their everyday lives and keep a weekly physical fitness routine.”

“We offer a free introductory class because we want people to see if Martial Arts training is right for them,” he said.
