Husker men’s basketball falls in first round of NIT Tournament

Aric Holman had 16 points and ten rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season, Lamar Peters was four assists shy of a NIT record with a career-high 14 and Mississippi State won its first post-season game since 2010 with a 66-59 victory over Nebraska last night in the first round.

Abdul Ado added 15 points and nine boards for the Bulldogs, which plays at Baylor in the next round. James Palmer Jr. had 13 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots for the Huskers, which was just 11-31 shooting in the first half and finished at 35% from the field. Teammates Isaac Copeland added twelve points and Isaiah Roby had ten points and eight boards. Nebraska, who trailed 33-28 at halftime finishes with a 22-11 record. Mississippi St. improves to 23-11.
