A few of Gonzaga’s more seasoned players are already putting up some impressive numbers on the stat sheet this season.

Redshirt senior Johnathan Williams is two points away from hitting 1,000 for his career. The forward scored 585 points in his first two seasons at Missouri and totaled 397 for the Zags last year.

Williams scored 16 points in Friday’s 97-69 win over Texas Southern. The big man went 5 for 11 from the field, including a 3-pointer, and was 55.6 percent successful at the line (5 of 9).

Williams surpassed the 700-rebound mark at the NCAA Tournament semifinal last season against South Carolina and now has 714 career boards. He is just two offensive rebounds away from hitting 250 of his career.

Bulldogs guards Josh Perkins and Silas Melson are also chasing personal milestones.

Perkins surpassed 700 career points in Friday’s season opener after the redshirt junior scored 20 points against Texas Southern. Perkins is 16 assists shy of hitting 300 of his career and 20 steals away from 100.

Melson is looking for a personal record beyond the arc. After making 1 of 5 3-pointers on Friday, the senior is five away from 100 3-pointers for his career.
