‘Alice in Wonderland’ auditions set Feb. 9
The Watertown Players Children’s Theater Workshop will hold auditions for its spring production of “Alice in Wonderland” Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Watertown Players Theater located in The Market, 210 S. Water St., from 10 a.m.-noon for children in second through eighth grade.
Those wishing to try out must be at the full two-hour audition. The show performance will be Saturday, April 6. Classes will be held Saturdays from 10 a.m.-noon. Children will not only perform “Alice in Wonderland” but will also work on acting techniques.
Cost of the workshop is $10 for the eight-week session. A parent must accompany each child to auditions and there will be a parent meeting of expectations when auditions start. The show is under the direction of Annette Weirick.
The play tells the story of Alice, a dreamy little girl who follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole and finds herself in a strange land peopled by such characters as the Cheshire Cat, the Duchess, the Mad Hatter, March Hare and the foreboding Queen of Hearts.
“There are plenty of parts to go around,” stated a media release from the Watertown Players, “and it is the hope of the director to double cast the show.”
