Chris Thompson, Redskins running back, to get on the field
Redskins running back Chris Thompson said Monday he will get to run on the field for the first time since undergoing leg surgery in November.

Thompson broke his leg against the New Orleans Saints, ending his season. Before his injury, Thompson was the Redskins’ most effective playmaker, leading the team in both rushing and receiving yards.
In January, Thompson told reporters he plans to be back by training camp.
The Redskins have been open about their desire to add a new running back, but Thompson still figures to have a large role next season. His ability to extend plays will be valuable for quarterback Alex Smith.
