Tennessee to host Troy during 2020 football season
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee will host Troy as one of its four nonconference games in the 2020 season.
Officials from both schools announced Thursday that Troy would be playing Tennessee at Neyland Stadium on Nov. 21, 2020. Troy will be receiving $1.4 million for making the trip to Knoxville.
In the only previous matchup between these two programs, Tennessee scored two touchdowns in the final three minutes to rally for a 55-48 victory on Nov. 3, 2012, in Knoxville. Tennessee’s Tyler Bray threw for a school-record 530 yards that day, and each team had over 700 yards in total offense.
Tennessee’s other 2020 nonconference games are Sept. 5 against Charlotte, Sept. 12 at Oklahoma and Sept. 19 against Furman.
Troy’s other nonconference games in 2020 are Sept. 5 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Sept. 12 at Massachusetts and Sept. 19 against North Carolina State.
