Faster and more reliable internet coming to the Madison County Courthouse
MADISON - The Madison County courthouse will be getting improved internet coverage.
At the Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday Commissioner Christian Ohl talked about some of the best fiber data service option available.
Ohl said the best recommendation was from Connecting Point as they have a fiber optic hookup already in place near the courthouse.
“It would cost about $2,000 a year in additional costs to upgrade to fiber, which would provide a more consistent signal. Other estimates from other providers were higher because they don’t have a fiber line in place.”
Deputy Jon Downey said it will be great to get more reliable and faster internet service with the opportunity to bundle phone to it in the future.
The board unanimously approved a motion to go forward with installation of the fiber optics.
