Man charged in killing of 3 relatives, friends at their Dunn home
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man in connection with the shooting of four people on Monday night.
Armando Martinez, 40, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of felony larceny of a motor vehicle. The incident took place at about 9 p.m. at a home on Woods Crossroads Road in Dunn. Authorities said three people were pronounced dead at the scene and one other was taken to WakeMed for treatment.
Martinez was either family with or close friends with all the victims, who were sharing a home, officials said.
The victims who died have been identified as Pamela Jean Ramon, Ledis Alberto Lopez and Jessica Rubioa Agular.
Jose Rubio Arguilar is in serious condition at WakeMed.
An argument took place before Martinez started shooting, authorities said.
Deputies said Martinez left the scene in a red 1996 Chevrolet S10 with license plate number PFD-4913. The car belonged to one of the victims, officials said.
He was arrested after wrecking the vehicle in Harnett County.
The shooting left neighbors confused and stunned.
“You just can’t imagine something like that happening...we’re just quiet and we don’t get bothered by much and then all of a sudden you have something like this happen and it just tears your up,” said Wayne Naugle, who lives nearby.
Martinez is being housed in the Johnston County Jail with no bond
