New flooding concerns in Missouri after latest rain
EUREKA, Mo. (AP) — Another round of rain is causing more headaches in flood-weary Missouri.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says about three dozen roads are closed, mostly in the St. Louis area. In the suburb of Eureka, about a dozen businesses took on water early Monday after more than 5 inches (12.7 centimeters) of rain fell, causing flash flooding. Water rescues also were performed in the nearby suburb of Chesterfield.
Along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, mostly minor flooding was reported. Some areas north of St. Joseph have received more than 4 inches (10.2 centimeters) of rain in the latest storms.
