All three are juniors and are among 40 players nationwide chosen to the squad. It was the Indians’ first postseason triumph since defeating Judson 2-1 in a one-game playoff in 1991.200: Career wins for Madison baseball coach Chad Wehe, who reached the milestone during the Mavericks’ 7-0 victory over LEE on April 16. Wehe, a New Braunfels graduate, previously coached at Judson and Fort Worth Brewer.450: Career victories for Reagan baseball coach Chans Chapman, who accomplished the feat during the Rattlers’ 14-1 decision over Roosevelt on April 16. Chapman previously coached at Garrison. He has led Reagan to the postseason in all 15 of his seasons at the school, including to the UIL Class 6A state tournament the past two seasons and three of the last five. Odds and ends Baseball: The 36th annual Valley-Hi Optimist All-Star Game, which will feature some of the area’s top players, is scheduled for June 1 at Tejeda Complex. The start time is 6 p.m.Tryouts for the event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at SAISD Complex. Interested players need to bring their own equipment.
