Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson joins ‘The Voice’

Jennifer Hudson, an Academy Award-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning recording artist joins fellow coaches Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as “The Voice” begins its 13th season. Part 2 of the blind auditions airs tonight (9/26) at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Competing against coaches Tom Jones, will.i.am and Gavin Rossdale , Hudson, who got her start as one of “The Three Divas” on “American Idol” in 2004, recently completed season six of ITV’s “The Voice U.K.,” as her artist Mo Andeniran won the competition. Now on this side of The Pond, the vocalists compete to be selected by one of the coaches and fight for a chance to win the title of “The Voice.”

She embodies the experience, the expertise, positivity and sheer talent that ‘The Voice’ stands for,” Paul Telegdy, president of NBC’s alternative and reality group, told Variety. “Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show.” “The Voice” airs regularly on Mondays, 8 p.m. on NBC.
