Manteno edges Grant Park in nonconference win

Manteno was tested but survived the Dragons’ fire for the 48-46 win.

Darien Bechard led the Panthers with a game-high 17 points. Harry Crawford followed with 10 points, and Jack Trepanier had seven points.

Austin Jacobson had 12 points for the Dragons. Caleb Benson, Max Markland and Will Schneider had eight points a piece.

Westmont 47, Coal City 46

Austin Pullara was the high-scorer with 16 points and five rebounds. Blake Harseim and Payton Hutchings each had eight points. Hutchings also brought down seven rebounds.

Streator 85, Reed-Custer 78

Gavin Grace led the Comets with 18 points and three steals. Dylan Hutchinson followed with 17 points and six assists, and A.J. Cherry had nine points.

Gardner-South Wilmington 58, Dwight 45

Nathan Wozinack led all scorers with 18 points. Walker Eutusy and Jaylon Sims each finished with 12 points, and Chris Bexson had seven points.

Dakota Wahl had 13 points for the Trojans. Morgan Fritz and Andrew Carl followed with nine points each.

Tri-Point 71, Donovan 50

Randal Ifft led all scorers with 23 points. Mark Miller followed with 15 points, and Nick Mahoney had 12 points.

Bryce Perzee had 11 points for Donovan, and Keegan Wingerter and Kyle Gilbert added nine points a piece.

Watseka 46, Beecher 31

Ben Lyznicki was at the forefront of the Warrios’ attack with 16 points. Blake Castonguay followed with 13 points, and Brendan Fletcher had seven points.

Nathan Soch had 14 points for Beecher.

LaSalette 64, Central 31

Ben Robison led Central with seven points. Canyon Burrow and Corey Roach each had six points.


Wilmington 59, Kewanee 47

Joey Flannery led the charge with 22 points. Matteo Lombardi followed with 19 points, and Garrett Roth added seven points.

Trinity 68, Grace Christian 47

Trevor Winsler posted a double-double to lead the Eagles with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Dylan Hassett was next with 18 points, and Jared Oates had 13 points and five assists.


KCC 81, Southwestern (IA) 79

The Cavaliers walked away victorious after Micah Rosser’s 24 point outing, including the game-winning jumper at the buzzer.

Jerome Bynum had 15 points, and David Jasson followed with 11 points.
