Massachusetts Democrats to converge for “campaign institute”
BOSTON (AP) — Democrats from across Massachusetts are planning to converge in Boston this weekend for a two-day “Democratic Campaign Institute” hosted by the state Democratic Party.
Organizers say the event brings together elected officials, campaign staff, candidates, activists, and supporters to help them hone their political strategy and grassroots organizing skills.
Featured speakers during Saturday’s session include U.S. Sen. Edward Markey and U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley — both Democrats.
Democrats already hold every statewide seat other than governor and lieutenant governor, every congressional seat in the Massachusetts delegation and overwhelming majorities in both legislative chambers.
The weekend event takes place at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in the city’s Roxbury neighborhood.
Organizers said this year’s campaign institute will focus specifically on engaging diverse communities through Massachusetts.
