Millard child-care provider ordered to close business

February 15, 2018 GMT

State authorities say they have issued an emergency order closing a child-care provider’s business in the Millard area.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said Christine Freeman, who runs Chrissy’s Childcare at 5029 S. 133rd St., cannot provide care for any children other than her own.

Freeman may request a hearing within 15 days of receiving the emergency order, officials said. The hearing is held within 10 days of the request unless a continuance is granted.

An emergency order is issued whenever the department finds that an emergency exists requiring immediate action to protect the well-being and safety of a child in a child-care program, officials said.

According to Daycare.com, Chrissy’s Childcare is open 24 hours a day, takes children 6 weeks old to 13 years old, and has a capacity of 12.
