January 18, 2019

NORFOLK - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is set to host a fisheries informational meeting.

Northeast District Fisheries Manager Jeff Schuckman says the meeting will start off with introductions and opening remarks from Dean Rosenthal, the Fisheries Division Administrator and Jim Ernst, the Northeast District Commissioner.

Schuckman says the meeting will also include a number of special project updates.

“We’re going to update people on what is going on at Goose Lake, and what we’re try to do to improve some fisheries at Powder Creek, Buckskin Hills, and Chalkrock. We’ll also give an update on the Lewis and Clark Lake walleye stockings.”

Schuckman says they’ll also go over the fish stocking summary for last year and the requests for this year, give an aquatic invasive species update, and look at 2018 sampling results and the 2019 fishing forecast.

The meeting is set to take place at the Lifelong Learning Center on the campus of Northeast Community College Monday at 7 P.M.
