Omaha couple to be next ‘Face on the Barroom Floor’
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Omaha couple is being honored by the Omaha Press Club for their work in the community.
Thomas and Aileen Warren will become the 160th “Face on the Barroom Floor” on April 13 at the club that occupies the 22nd floor of the original First National tower. The honor dates back to 1971.
Thomas Warren has served as president and CEO of the Urban League of Nebraska since 2008, after retiring from a 24-year career with the Omaha Police Department including his final four years as chief of police. Aileen Warren has served as assistant vice chancellor, business and finance, and director of human resources for the University of Nebraska Medical Center over the past five years.
Johnny Carson, Larry the Cable Guy and Warren Buffett are all past honorees.
