The Annual Osterhout Fundraiser Returns To The Top Of The Intermodal Center

August 4, 2016

The Osterhout Free Library found a hit with its Brewsterhout event eight years ago. Since it was first introduced, the event has grown and moved to the top of the Intermodal Building. It returns at 5 p.m. Friday, rain or shine. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Attendees must be 21-years-old. Last year’s event had 600 people and organizers expect even more this year, said Christopher Kelly, the Osterhout director of development and community relations. DJ Ryan Kenton will provide the entertainment. “The Brewsterhout rooftop party is a unique event for a really unique cause,” Kenton said. “It’s gotta be one of the coolest benefit events I’m asked to DJ every year. Seriously, who’d have thought drinking brews up on a rooftop could fund your local library?” The event is expected to bring in more than $15,000 for the library. Brewsterhout will have several beers on tap: Sunny Spot and Shady Spot from Susquehanna Brewing Co., Yuengling, Landshark, Shocktop, Osterhout Ale from Breaker Brewing Company and Bud Light. More than 30 local food vendors will also be in attendance. In case of rain or storms, Brewsterhout will be moved down one floor of the intermodal building.
