Mohave overcomes wind for win

March 28, 2018

BULLHEAD CITY — Mohave High School’s Lady Thunderbirds defeated the Veritas Prep Academy Lady Falcons of Phoenix 4-1 during an Arizona Interscholastic Association Division II home beach volleyball match at Mohave High School on Monday afternoon.

“The strong winds were the key element in today’s match,” Mohave head coach Zdenko Radic said. “The team played smart volleyball and factored in the wind during the match.

“The strong winds were out of the north and had a definite effect on the serves, as well as the volleys.”

Team No. 1 Natasha Radic and Maya Radic won 2-0, No. 2 Savanna Frei and Daniela Gomez won 2-0, No. 3 Oakley Heaton and Natalie Willmore won 2-0, and No. 5 Ashley Salzer and Keelyn Seabury also won their match 2-0.

The Lady Thunderbirds, whose overall record is now 6-3, willhost the Trivium Prep Academy Lady Knights on Wednesday.
