Rosalie “Rosie” Bowman Amick, 77, of Madison died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Jefferson County, to Carl Emery and Marie Lavonne Crafton Bowman. She was a 1958 graduate of Saluda High School. She was a farmer early in life and worked as an office manager at Clifty State Park and in food service at Hanover College. She and her husband owned and operated Amick’s Lawn Care Service. She was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Paynesville. She enjoyed spending winters in Babson Park, Fla. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, also sewing, making jewelry and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Don Allen Amick, whom she married Dec. 5, 1958; two daughters, Brenda Amick Amos of Hanover and Kelly Amick Walburn of Madison; one son, Brian Amick of LaGrange, Ky.; five sisters, Phyllis Moore of Anderson, Jo Ann Vest of Bedford, Ky., Linda Elles of Hanover, Jeanette Andrew of Vevay and Susie Lions of Hanover; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, who died Aug. 20, 1979; her mother, who died Oct. 5, 2016; and two brothers, Ronnie Bowman, who died Dec. 30, 2015, and Kenneth Allen “Kenny” Bowman, who died July 4, 2016. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Paynesville. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Mount Zion Cemetery Association. Wayne Alden Gilbert, 76, of Madison died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, in Madison. He was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Greenville, Ohio, to Glenn and Pauline Trace Gilbert. He was raised in New Westin, Ohio, and graduated from Ansonia High School. He then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Defiance College. He taught high school math and physics in Almont, Mich., for three years. He worked as a computer programmer for most of his career and retired from IBM in 2002. He moved to the Madison area in 2001 from Versailles, Ky., where he resided for 24 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former member of Versailles United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sudoku, Fox News, fishing, watching nature and animal shows with his grandchildren, and being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Roseann Herr Gilbert, whom he married Aug. 24, 1968; one daughter, Tara Bailey of Mason, Ohio; one son, Trace Gilbert of Madison; one sister, Carroll Miller of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. A graveside service and burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio. Friends may call at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the service. Lynn Duane Marsh, 69, of Carrollton, Ky., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, in Carrollton, Ky. He was born Jan. 12, 1948, in Carrollton, Ky., to Harold L. and Lillie E. Rose Marsh. He served in the Army. He retired as a driver from Allied Trucking. He was a member of Carrollton Post 41 of the American Legion. He is survived by two sons, Aaron Marsh and Ryan Marsh, both of Carrollton, Ky.; one daughter, Amy Wright of Carrollton, Ky.; four brothers, Andrew Marsh, George Marsh and Chris Marsh, all of Carrollton, Ky., and Danny Marsh of Bedford, Ky.; two sisters, Haroldetta Bickers of Carrollton, Ky. and Lesa Logan of Bedford, Ky.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Patty Jo Marsh. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky.
