NC Wanted: ‘Death is only thing’ that will stop Goldsboro father from finding daughter’s killer
Machelle Wynn was killed while walking to school in Goldsboro, but 22 years later, nobody has been arrested for the crime.
Eddie Wynn lived a father’s worst nightmare. His daughter, Machelle, was abducted while walking to Goldsboro High School on Aug. 29, 1995. She was daddy’s little girl.
“Machelle was petite, she was delicate and she was kind,” Wynn said.
The teenager’s body was found along a wood line off Retha Street in Goldsboro. She had been strangled and left for dead in a field.
“I believe the circumstance that she was found in. It took at least two people. One probably did it and the other one is a witness to it. I want that one to call,” Wynn said.
Wynn posted fliers around the city after his daughter’s death, hoping that witness or anyone else with information would come forward to help solve the case.
“This little girl, she was 17 years old. She had a whole life ahead of her and somebody saw fit to take it from her and that’s something that we will never, never give up on,” said Maj. Tim Bell with the Goldsboro Police Department.
“I’ll puts it and push it and push it until the right person makes the call or whatever it takes,” Wynn said. “Death is the only thing that’s going to stop me.”
