Regina DeCicco performs at Treehouse Comedy Club in Westport

January 14, 2018 GMT

Regina DeCicco, who has been seen on FOX TV’s “Laughs,” brings her stand-up act to the Treehouse Comedy Club in the Westport Inn on Saturday, Jan. 20.

Spoiler alert — yes, she’s Italian. And yes, that aspect of her background inspires some of her comedy, like when she talks about how her mom wanted her to marry Tony Danza. She was only 5 at the time and Danza was an adult, but her mother was ready to overlook that issue.

Though the Danza-DeCicco wedding never happened, DeCicco’s work has involved television shows on which he has appeared, such as “Saturday Night Live.” She worked behind the scenes there for several seasons, and says in her online bio, “Yes, it’s as awesome as you think it is.”

DeCicco has also appeared as herself on “The Dr. Oz Show,” and was on Whoopi Goldberg’s NBC sitcom, “Whoopie.” She shares in her bio, “Whoopie is as cool as they come.”

AXS-TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live” is where DeCicco made her television debut, just four days after her wedding. She’s performed all over the United States, and even did a show in Shanghai, China, during her honeymoon, because “why not?”

Back in 2016 she became a member of the legendary Friars Club. The Barnard College graduate is also known for her performances in “The Italian Chicks,” a two-hour, casino-style variety show.

DeCicco won the Ladies of Laughter competition in 2012. That same year she was a semi-finalist in the She-Devil Comedy Festival in New York City.

Also performing Saturday will be comedians Stephen Arenholz, Artie Rob, Dame FK, Kristine Blinn, Kevin Fitzgerald, Tim McKeever and others.

The Treehouse Comedy Club at The Westport Inn, 1595 Post Road E. Saturday, Jan. 20, 8 p.m. $17.50. 203-230-8700
