Tonight: Stamford’s all-city string festival

STAMFORD — Students from several city schools will perform at an all-district string festival Thursday at Cloonan Middle School.

The festival will feature Stamford Public Schools’ String Players and a special performance by Westhill High School sophomore Brian Kaether, concertmaster with the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic.

The show, set for 7 p.m., includes more than 100 students from Cloonan, Westhill, Stamford High, Dolan, Rippowam, Turn of River, Rogers, Hart, Westover, Springdale, Stillmeadow, Toquam and Northeast.

The event is part of the National Association for Music Education’s “Music in our Schools” month, SPS students and are celebrating with an all-district string festival.
