ANSONIA-With two juveniles in custody for vandalizing the soccer fields at the Ansonia Nature Center, police are now seeking the public’s help to solve a similar situation at Abe Stone Park.

Police have asked anyone who saw the a motorcyle and a truck driving over the park’s soccer fields in the recent snow to contact them. Lt. Patrick Lynch said anyone who saw the incident may use the anonymous Tip411 line to provide information that could lead to an arrest.

Several houses front the park located on Colony Road.

On March 1 police charged two 17-year-old with causing similar damage to the soccer field at the Ansonia Nature Center in February. The pair are charged with first-degree criminal mischief and were released to their parents. Their case is pending in Waterbury Juvenile Court.

Because the pair is charged as juveniles their names and details of the investigation are not available to the public.

Lynch said police used information received on the Tip411 line and social media to make the arrest. They are hoping any residents who saw the Abe Stone Park damage will call.
