Hurdler Jenkins Accepts Suspension

August 4, 2006

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) _ Hurdler Cordera Jenkins has accepted a deferred three-month suspension after testing positive for marijuana, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Friday.

The 18-year-old Jenkins, from Dickinson, Texas, will be allowed an immediate return to competition because he completed an anti-doping educational program, USADA said.

Jenkins tested positive June 22 at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis and was stripped of his win in the 110-meter hurdles at the event.

It was his first doping offense.
