Ronald R. Flaugh
Ronald R. Flaugh, 77, of Homer, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Oakland Heights Care Center in Oakland, Neb.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Homer. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Monday, at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City.
Ronald was born on Jan. 28, 1941, in Homer, the son of Orval and Beulah (Longwell) Flaugh. He graduated from Homer High School.
Ronald married Charlotte Georgesen in 1960 in Homer. They were blessed with four children. He owned and operated Flaugh’s Service & Café in Homer for 15 years, sold health and life insurance for 15 years, and owned and operated Flaugh’s Pronto for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Sioux City Abu Bekr Shriners. Ron loved playing cards, boating, teaching people to water ski, and just spending time on the lake. He also enjoyed dancing and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife, Char Flaugh of Homer; children, Ronald (Joy) Flaugh Jr. of Branson West, Mo., Tammy (Bill) Swoboda of Homer, and Janelle (Pat) Noreen of McCook Lake, S.D.; grandchildren, Autumn and Easton Flaugh, Amber Tompkins, Amie Pleskac, Shana Adams, and Shane and Courtney Noreen; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathy Flaugh of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Beulah Flaugh; an infant son, Craig Flaugh; and a brother, Richard Flaugh.
