Judge Kimba Wood Files For Divorce, Cites Lack of Sex

NEW YORK (AP) _ U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood, dubbed by tabloids as the ``Love Judge″ for her alleged affair with a married millionaire, has filed for divorce on grounds her husband withheld sex from her for at least a year.

The federal judge, who was once on President Clinton’s short list for attorney general, sued Time magazine political columnist Michael Kramer for divorce last week, citing ``constructive abandonment.″

Wood has been caught up in publicity since last August when she was named ``the other woman″ in the bitter divorce of Wall Street financier Frank Richardson.

Richardson’s wife of 22 years sued for divorce after reading details of her husband’s alleged trysts with Wood in his handwritten diaries.

Kramer’s lawyer, Larry Pollack, denied the allegation of a lack of sex, saying long settlement talks had broken down over finances.

``It’s a fight over money, and not a lot of money,″ Pollack said in today’s New York Post.

The Post, citing sources close to the case, said the judge, who is paid $133,600 a year, wants Kramer to pay maintenance on her condo and school and medical expenses for their 9-year-old son. She also wants Kramer to pay an additional $1,500 month for miscellaneous expenses, the sources said.

In 1993, Wood was asked by the White House to withdraw her name from consideration as U.S. attorney general candidate when a background check revealed she had hired an illegal alien to care for her son. The hiring was not illegal at the time.
