Eleven Brunswick athletes to play college football
The Brunswick School football team produced one of its most successful seasons this past fall, so it’s not surprising that 11 players will showcase their skills in the sport at the collegiate level.
All 11 players recently graduated from Brunswick, which finished 7-3 last season and placed second in the Erickson League. Peter Wise, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive tackle, anchored the Bruins’ offensive line. Wise will join Columbia University’s Division I football program in the fall.
Kieran Dowley, who played at tight end and linebacker for the Bruins, will play at Brown University (Division I). Dowley had 26 receptions for 36 yards as a senior.
Cassius Johnson, Brunswick’s lock-down cornerback, will bring his defensive talent to the University of San Diego — a Division I FCS program. Cameron Kelly, who also powered the Bruins’ secondary from his cornerback position, is going to continue his football career at Valparaiso University (Division I FCS).
Antonio Rogliano (6-2, 250), who paced the Bruins’ defensive line, brings his run-stopping/pass-rushing abilities to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Divison III). Rogliano also saw action on the offensive line.
Jaydin Knight, who led Brunswick with more than 500 rushing yards this past fall, will line up in the backfield at Hamilton College (Division III). His twin brother, Justin Knight, who played linebacker/running back for the Bruins, joins Franklin and Marshall’s football program (Division III) in the fall.
Chris Katchadurian (6-1, 275) an offensive/defensive lineman will play at Union College (Division III), while Kyle Pryzpek, who helped spearhead the defense from his linebacker position joins him.
Matt Beninati, one of Brunswick’s key defensive backs, is headed to the University of Chicago (Division III) and Brandon Allen is going to Saint Lawrence University (Division III). The 11 players that will play football in college is a team-record number.
