LOWELL -- The snow emergency parking ban city officials put in place for Thursday’s major winter storm was lifted Friday morning, police announced.

At 6 a.m., the parking ban ended and on-street parking was once again permitted.

Residents had been allowed to park for free in city garages during the storm, but that benefit expired at 8 a.m. Friday.

Anyone with a car still in a city garage risks incurring parking costs after 8 a.m.
