Trump eggs DACA: Darcy cartoon

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- President Trump mistook Monday’s White House Easter Egg Roll for the Boy Scout Jamboree he mistook for another campaign rally.

Trump boasted about the U.S. economy and military “levels” to little kids gathered on the White House lawn to roll Easter eggs.  Later, with children gathered around him, Trump once again blamed the Democrats for the problems over DACA.

The Easter Bunny standing next to Trump shouldn’t have looked so stunned.   Easter Sunday, while many Americans were taking in Sunday church services and later peeps, Trump was serving up political diatribes in the following nasty tweets:

“Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch and Release.  Getting more dangerous.  “Caravans” coming.  Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL!”

“Mexico is doing very little, if not Nothing, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S.  They laugh at our dumb immigration laws.  They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA.  NEED WALL!

The populist genius Trump instinctively knew that what people wanted in their Easter baskets was not more jellybeans, but more “Nuclear Option” and “NAFTA” rhetoric.

Tuesday, Trump called for the U.S.armed forces to patrol the border, which may be illegal under U.S. law.   Having the U.S. National Guard patrol the border would require the permission of border state governors who control the National Guard.

As it stands now, the U.S. armed forces are at their lowest levels since 1940 and are already overstretched.  But their Commander-in-Chief thinks it’s fit to stretch them even more until his border wall is built or he imports the Great Wall of China after working out a trade/tariff deal.

Isn’t politicizing Easter an abuse of presidential power, and as such, an impeachable offense?  If it isn’t, it should be.

Trump has proven himself to be the April Fool, who makes a joke out of the U.S. Presidency every day of every month.
