LONG ISLAND — The U.S. Coast Guard Long Island Sector is searching for the owner of an unmanned kayak that was found on Long Island Saturday afternoon.

The 13 tandem hobie kayak was found adrift north of Glen Cove and Lattington, New York.

Though the Coast Guard did not give a specific time for when the kayak was found, the agency put out a social media post about the vessel shortly after noon.

Though there was no speculation of what might have happened to the possible occupant of the kayak, the Coast Guard said anyone with information on the owner should contact the agency at 203-468-4421.
