Man Suffers Severe Burns in Tewksbury Fire-pit Accident
TEWKSBURY -- An unidentified man was flown to a Boston trauma center Thursday evening after suffering burns in an accident as he tried to start a fire in a fire pit, police said.
Firefighters requested a MedFlight helicopter come to Tewksbury to transport the man after he was found with severe burns at 416 Rogers St., about 6:50 p.m., police said.
Police said there was no criminal activity involved, so additional information was not available.
The man was taken by ambulance to a landing zone off Woburn Street, and from there was flown to a Boston trauma center, according to Fire Department radio broadcasts.
