End of discount period for county/municipal taxes approaches in Forty Fort Thomas Alexander, tax collector of Forty Fort Borough, announces the discount period for the 2019 County/Municipal real estate taxes will end on Wednesday, April 3. The face amounts will be due from April 4 through June 3. For all bills paid after June 3 through Dec. 31, penalty amounts will be collected. In person collection is available at the office located in the Forty Fort borough building. Office hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday. Other hours will be announced as needed. Bring a copy of your bill with you if you are paying in-person at the borough building. Payments may be mailed to P.O. Box 124, Luzerne, PA 18709. Anyone needing a receipt must include the whole bill in its entirety along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope, otherwise a receipt will not be sent. If a property owner has not received their bill, contact the collector for a duplicate. The phone number is 570-287-1978. Taxpayers with any questions should call or stop by the office. Payments may be dropped in the “tax collector” mailbox located in the center hall lockers of the borough building. No cash should be placed there. Swoyersville tax collector reminds taxpayers discount period ends April 3 Swoyersville Tax Collector Nancy L. Keating announced the 2019 county/municipal tax discount ends Wednesday, April 3. Hours for collection during the discount period are 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, and 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 3. Face period office hours begin Saturday, April 6, and are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturdays and 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays. Appointments can be requested by calling 570-718-1999 and leaving a message. When paying by mail and requesting a receipt, send the complete tax bill along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. A mail slot has been made available at the borough building for these payments. Borough building hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Home collections are available. Property owners who have not received their bill should call the tax office.
