December 18, 2016

BETHEL - The Bethel Public Library will host two musical performances next month.

The first, called “Songs and Stories for Grown-ups,” will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 11. The event will feature local professional musician and writer Lenny Levine. Levine’s songs have been recorded and performed by Diana Ross, The Pointer Sisters and Barry Manilow. He was also awarded a 2011 Pushcart Prize nomination for short fiction. The program is for adults and not suitable for children.

Rick Spencer, nationally recognized performer of historic-music programs, will play his music at 6:30 p.m on Jan. 18. At the program, called “Songs of the Second World War,” Spencer will perform some of the most entertaining and popular songs of the 1940s. He will also provide background information on the war and how it inspired the music. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is for adults and students in sixth grade and older.

Registration is required and limited to 50 each for both programs. Call 203-794-8756 ext. 4, register online at www.bethellibrary.org, or sign up at the Library’s Reference Desk.
