Galaxy 40, Admirals 28
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Steve Pelluer threw a touchdown pass Sunday and the Frankfurt Galaxy held on for a 40-28 victory over the Amsterdam Admirals in the WLAF.
Pelleur was knocked out of the game late in the first half with a bruised forearm, but the Galaxy (4-0) had a 34-7 lead by then.
Will Furrer threw four touchdown passes for the Admirals (1-3). Furrer’s last touchdown pass, with 42 seconds left in the third quarter, cut Frankfurt’s lead to 34-28.
Frankfurt, which entered the game with the top-ranked defense, then stiffened and shut down the Admirals, who have the top-ranked offense.
The Galaxy, which beat the Admirals in last year’s World Bowl, finally sealed the win when Bobby Phillips scored with 2:45 left on a 2-yard sweep.
