Pa. Republicans ask state Supreme Court to stay its own gerrymandering order

Republican lawmakers are asking the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to stop its own order.

A day after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the state’s congressional map is an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander and ordered the General Assembly to draw a new map, State Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati and House Speaker Mike Turzai, top Republicans in Harrisburg, filed a request Tuesday that the court stay its order.
