Luther Prep forensics team takes second place
DEFOREST -- The Luther Preparatory School forensics team had another successful tournament on Saturday. They competed at the DeForest Invitational.
LPS had seven finalists. Sophomore duo Lydia Lindemann and Staci Scharf took third in duo interpretation and senior duo Grace Brown and Sophie Thompson took first in duo interpretation. Senior Katie Kopplin had a strong showing in solo humorous acting, receiving fifth place. Grace Brown entered in two categories on Saturday, in addition to her duo interpretation trophy. Brown also received fourth in special occasion speaking. Sophomore Emma Lau placed fourth in storytelling.
Luther Prep placed second in the small teams division (1-16 entries) in the tournament with 15 entries based on average points per entry. Luther Prep placed seventh overall out of 24 teams based on total number of points earned by the team. This was LPS’s third competition of the season.
The Luther Preparatory School forensics team will next compete at the Capitol Conference Forensics Tournament on Monday hosted by Columbus High School.
