TIMONIUM, Md. (AP) — A Maryland woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for causing a crash that killed a 5-year-old girl and her grandmother.

The Baltimore Sun reports 23-year-old Callie Noble Schwarzman was sentenced Monday on charges of automobile manslaughter. She pleaded guilty in September. Schwarzman also was sentenced to substance abuse and mental health treatment, five years of supervised probation and to avoid all contact with the victims’ family.

Prosecutors have said Schwarzman was driving nearly double the speed limit in Timonium in July when she drove her SUV off the road. She crashed into 5-year-old Delaney Gaddis and 60-year-old Deborah Limmer while they were walking. Prosecutors said Schwarzman’s blood contained no alcohol, but it did contain a sedative, narcotic and THC, the cannabis chemical that causes a high.
