HAZLETON Auditor General Targets PGC

February 21, 2018

HAZLETON — As he examines how the Pennsylvania Game Commission manages its money, state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale said he will consider how the commission manages wildlife such as deer and grouse. DePasquale on Tuesday said he will audit the commission for the three years starting July 1, 2014, and ending June 30, 2017. His audit will look at whether the commission followed the law, including game laws, in its financial transactions and land deals. State Rep. David Maloney Sr., R-130, Berks County, joined DePasquale at a news conference and said he pressed for the audit because declines in deer and grouse led to about 200,000 fewer hunters and losses to the state’s economy. — KENT JACKSON
