Republican seeks to unseat Paddock
Three more candidates filed paperwork with the Allen County Election Board this week, including one for Fort Wayne City Council District 5.
Taylor Vanover, a Republican, officially began his campaign Friday for the Republican nomination to represent the city’s 5th District.
“There was a time in Fort Wayne when neighborhoods had a voice, I want to bring that time back,” Vanover said in a statement Thursday. “I want to see a consistent police presence in neighborhoods with officers who know the streets they patrol. This is how we reduce violent crime and theft.”
Vanover currently has no primary challenger and would face Councilman Geoff Paddock, a Democrat, in November.
Other candidates who filed with the Election Board on Thursday and Friday are:
• Natalie Strock, Republican: New Haven city clerk-treasurer.
• Craig Dellinger, Republican: New Haven City Council District 3.
