Lincoln Museum launches history forum with yearlong events
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is kicking off a new way to explore the state’s history.
The museum announced the formation of the Illinois History Forum. Museum officials said Tuesday that the first meeting will be Jan. 12 and the topic will be the 16th president’s neighborhood based on the book, “Lincoln’s Springfield Neighborhood.”
The group will meet every two months to discuss books, movies and exhibits related to the state’s history. Other scheduled topics include a documentary about a labor organizer and the Mississippi Valley.
The events are free.
