Talent show audition set for Saturday

January 25, 2017

DeKALB – The Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club of DeKalb is looking for talent for a show planned for 7:30 p.m. April 1 at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St. in DeKalb.

Auditions for the two-hour Kishwaukee Kiwanis Show will be held at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St., DeKalb, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Chairman of the show committee and director of the show, Ralph Sherman Sr., said that people with all types of talent are encouraged to audition.

“The show is for all talent: young or old, professional or amateur,” Sherman said.

“People can perform any talent, including singing, dancing, juggling or performing in a group as a choir or band. The event is not a contest, it’s a way for people to present their talents to the community. Everyone and anyone in DeKalb County can audition.”

All proceeds from the talent show will be used to support the Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club’s projects and children’s programs in the community.

“The show is a way for people to raise funds for a local group that helps the community,” Sherman said.
