National Weather Service issues overnight winter storm warning

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that will run from 7 p.m. Thursday to noon Friday.

The warning covers Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula Inland and Ashtabula Lakeshore counties. It’s predicting 7 to 10 inches of snow, with localized amounts up to 13 inches.

Snow will be heavy at times with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour.

The service issued a wind advisory earlier today, running from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday.

A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible, according to the warning.

Thursday’s widespread rain is expected to turn overnight into wintery mix, then snow. For more information on the upcoming forecast, click here.
