A Benton County woman has been charged with arson and insurance fraud after she allegedly set fire to her own home.

Wanda Hensley, 67, Camden, was arrested and charged with one count of arson and one count of false or fraudulent insurance claim after a joint investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, working along with investigators with the Tennessee Fire Investigative Services.

At the request of 24th District Attorney General Matt Stowe, TBI Special Agents joined investigators with the TFIS in investigating the early morning fire at 201 South Point Drive in Camden on Thursday.

After a local fire department responded and extinguished the fire, investigators found multiple places where the fire broke out.

Further investigation showed Hensley was responsible for starting the fire, according to authorities.

Hensley’s bond was set at $10,000.
