County board to consider noxious weed measures

April 8, 2018

The Lincoln County commissioners will consider the next step in controlling yellow flag iris at Monday’s meeting.

The board will discuss a petition by the Lincoln County Weed Control Authority to designate yellow flag iris under the Noxious Weed Control Act to begin control efforts. With commissioners’ approval, the petition will be sent to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture director.

A public hearing will also be opened on an application by B & T Productions for a Class A beer on-sale-only liquor license. After the hearing, commissioners will decide on a recommendation to the state liquor control commission regarding the application.

In other business, the board will:

» Consider adding a GIS layer to the county assessor’s tab on the county website.

» View severe weather poster contest winners from Region 51 Emergency Management.

» Discuss a special designated liquor permit submitted by Longhorn Bar for a reception June 9.
