December 19, 2018

MONROE — The Riddle boys basketball team cruised to an easy victory over Monroe, 94-63, on Tuesday night in a nonleague contest.

The win improved the Irish to 8-0 on the season. Nate Hopkins led Class 1A Riddle with 30 points, while Dylan McFadden added 20.

Riddle had five players score in double figures. Colby Greer had 16 points and Cameron McMichael scored 14.

“We’re pretty happy with where were at. We used a big run in the first half and the third quarter sealed it for us,” Riddle coach Russell Hobson said. “You can’t say enough about the whole team. Nate (Hopkins) has been really consistent. The guard and post relationship has been really good. We had five guys in double figures scoring and have five or six guys who can do that any given night.”

Zach Young scored 27 for the 2A Dragons (5-3).

Riddle hosts Lowell on Thursday.
