White Lightning set to open Oct. 11
White Lightning, the long-anticipated Dancehall and Saloon with a Vegas twist, is set to open its doors Wednesday, Oct. 11. It’s sister restaurant, Whiskey Thunder, is expected to open the same night next door.
White Lightning, at 9522 North Sam Houston Parkway E, Suite 2400, can hold more than 1,000 guests, and the 30,000-square-foot venue is fully equipped with a stage that will welcome popular country music acts and set the stage for local up and coming artists. There are three main bars, the largest being 70-feet wide with an arsenal of spirits, a 25 daiquiri bar powered by Fat Tuesday’s mixers, and a craft beer bar featuring 72 taps. The term “White Lightning” as defined by the urban dictionary: a form of very high proof moonshine. Borders on being 200 proof; it’s pure grain alcohol and is illegal. White Lightning is also the subject of a 1959 George Jones hit drinking song. This Vegas-style nightlife experience will feature a female-driven staff catering to guests with five-star service and, of course, delivering bottles adorned with sparklers.
But what could be more Vegas than the White Lightning babes swinging from the ceiling?
